Origins of
Radical Unitarianism and Binitarianism
(Edition
2.0 20100129-20210130-20250728)
Many purporting Christians seek to explain the nature of God in terms of
Radical Unitarianism or Binitarianism not realising that the doctrines they
claim are in fact the doctrines of pagan gods and have been used to destroy the
church set up by Jesus Christ.

Origins
of Radical Unitarianism and Binitarianism
There are a great many
people who claim to follow the doctrines of the early church and when examined
they proffer the doctrines of the second century that were used to penetrate
and destroy the early church. They are ignorant of the origin of their
doctrines and the heresy involved and the attacks on the doctrine of the Nature
of God.
Two doctrines were
used to attack and destroy the doctrine of the Nature of God and its
understanding in Judaism and later in the emergent church.
The first false
doctrine was the doctrine of Radical Unitarianism that sought to deny the
function of the pre-existent Messiah and hence destroy the OT theology and its
prophecy of Messiah and the church.
The second false
doctrine was that of Binitarianism. It emerged from the revelation by God to
Isaiah of the coming Messiah.
Once this prophecy was
issued to Israel the demons immediately set up a counterfeit system in nearby
Syria and Mesopotamia generally in what were mystery cults. The great false
religion was that of the worship of the god Attis and the goddess Rhea or
Cybele who came to be associated with him.
The other gods were
Adonis among the Greeks and Osiris in Alexandria. We will examine the
development of this doctrine below.
Firstly let us define
and examine Radical Unitarianism and then let us examine its origins and
similarities to Binitarianism and examine what Christ had to say about this
doctrine and see how it is a fabricated heresy which relies on the
misconstruction of Scripture, both OT and NT.
Definition: The belief
that Christ had no existence prior to his conception/placement in the womb of
the virgin Mariam.
This doctrine was
advanced by Pharisaic Judaism at the time of Christ. It ignores large areas of
Scripture and was rejected as a view by Christ himself who quoted Scripture to
demonstrate its fallacy. It is advanced by those terming themselves Unitarian
Christians today and also by elements of rabbinical Judaism, who are the modern
day Pharisees, who misquote OT Scripture and assert that Messiah had no
pre-existence and that he is yet to emerge in the near future. This view has
been examined in the paper The False Messiah (No. 067B).
Very much like
Trinitarian doctrine it seizes on the weakest point of its argument and asserts
it as being the strongest point in refutation of it, and uses it as its proof
text.
Christ had finished
expounding the function of the Two Great Commandment of the Law of God to the
Pharisees who were gathered together because he had silenced the Sadducees who
claimed that there was no resurrection by his comment that God said: “I am the
God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob and God is not the God of the dead but
of the living” (Mat.22:32).
The Pharisees were
gathered and a lawyer asked him: “Master, what is the greatest Commandment in
the Law?” (Mat. 22:36)
Christ answered: “Thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with
all thy mind (quoting Deut 6:5, 10:12; 30:6). This is the First and Great
Commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Mat. 22:37-40).
The scribes divide the
Law into two sections: the affirmative commands and the negative commands.
There are 248 affirmative commands (which are allegedly the number of the
members of the body) and 365 negative commands (one for each day of the solar
year, thus also proving their mysticism). The total is thus 613 in number which
accords with the number of the “letters” in the Decalogue or so Bullinger
asserts of them (Companion Bible, fn.
to Mat. 22:36).
When Christ had made
the basis of the Law clear in its divisions and functions and he had the
leaders of the Pharisees together he dealt with another major problem that they
would inflict on Judah for millennia. He asked them the question: “What think
ye of Christ, Whose son is he?”
They said to him: “the
son of David.”
In refutation of them
he used Psalm 110:1 which is a favourite text of the Radical Unitarians today
to deny his pre-existence.
This is Christ’s
answer to all who deny his pre-existence: “How then does David in the Spirit
call him Lord saying: ‘The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou on my right hand
until I make your enemies your footstool.’
If David then called
him Lord, how is he his son?”
The Pharisees were
silent knowing that it was Yahovah of Hosts speaking to Messiah in the text.
The text in Psalm
110:1 was an “oracle of Yahovah (i.e. neum Yahovah).” The Sopherim then changed
110:5 from Yahovah to read Adonai instead of Yahovah. This was one of the 134
places that Yahovah was changed to Adonai in the texts of the Masoretic Text (MT)
by the Sopherim to conceal the identity of the beings involved and the
distinction between the superior and subordinate entities of Almighty God and
the God of Israel, which was his inheritance (see also Appendix 32 Companion
Bible for notation of the 132 places altered and Appendix 98 VI, i, a, 1A, a, for the Greek text in Matthew
22:44 quoting Ps. 110:1 where Yahovah is rendered ho kurios with the definite article in the Greek indicating Yahovah
of Hosts is meant) (see also the paper Psalm 110 (No.178)).
The meaning could not
be disguised in some texts though. One such text is Psalm 45:6-7 where David
says: “Therefore God thy God has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above
thy partners.” Hebrews 1:8-9 shows that
this is specifically the Christ. If Christ was Israel’s second God at the time
of David how then can he not have pre-existence? (see also the papers Psalm 45 (No. 177) and The Pre-existence of Jesus Christ
(No. 243)).
Zechariah shows that
the Angel of Yahovah at the head of the elect is an elohim as will be all of
the elect and David himself (Zech 12:8) (see also the paper The Elect as Elohim No. 001)).
Zechariah 2:8-9 shows that the Lord of Hosts (Yahovah Sabaoth) has sent the
secondary Yahovah unto the nations that spoiled Israel. He will shake his hand
upon them and they will be a spoil to their servants and we will then know that
the Lord of Hosts has sent him. How can this not be an angelic and supernatural
being?
These Radical
Unitarians claim that the One True God was present in the wilderness and gave
the Law to Moses. However, the NT is quite clear that no man has seen God ever,
both from the Gospels and the epistles, and that it was the subordinate elohim
that spoke to Israel (Jn. 1:18; Jn 5:37; Jn. 6:46; 1Tim. 6:16; 1Jn.5:20).
Christ states that he came down from Heaven and that no man has gone into
heaven save Christ who came down from heaven (Jn. 3:13). He says that anyone who has seen the son has
seen the Father (Jn. 6:36); however, this does not negate the fact that he said
that no one has seen the Father ever except he who was from God, namely
himself.
He is telling the
parable of the Holy Spirit being the form and power of God and that through the
Spirit he was of God.
Christ also said that
he had seen Satan fall like lightning from heaven (Lk. 10:18). How can he have
done that and not be a supernatural being?
In John 17:5 Christ
says in prayer: “and now, Father glorify thou me in thine own presence with the
glory I had with thee before the world was made.” How can a rational person
construe this utterance as not stating that he had pre-existence? The
Binitarians had to assert that it really was the fact that Christ was some form
of a conscious entity as part of the Father but still not really the Christ as
a separate entity. What irrational gibberish that proposition is. The Radical
Unitarians have to simply ignore the texts to maintain their irrational fiction
that Christ had no existence until a zygote in the virgin’s womb. In John 17:18
he again states that God sent him into the world (and that is not in the sense
of a zygote).
Philippians 2:5-7 is
mistranslated and often used as a Trinitarian proof text. It refers to the
rebellion and Christ’s faithfulness and self-sacrifice in the heavens. It says:
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he
was in the form (morphe) of God, did
not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself taking
the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men” (RSV).
How difficult is this
text to understand. It is fairly simple language. It establishes that:
One would have to be
feeble minded to assert this text does not imply pre-existence. Even the
Trinitarians were faced with garbling the translation to try to make him equal
to God but even they are not stupid enough to try to deny his pre-existence.
That premise is why Trinitarianism has been more successful than Radical
Unitarianism as a deception (with the exception of Hadithic Islam).
Paul’s statement in
1Timothy 3:16 has been forged in Codex A. The text says: “And without
controversy great is the mystery of Godliness: which was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed
on in the world, received up into glory.”
Bullinger (Companion
Bible) in the footnote to verse 16 notes that the R.V. holds “Theos (God) rests on no sufficient
evidence.” He goes on to explain that the letters were originally ho (which); the Greek uncial being O.
Some scribe later added the s making it “He Who” – thinking it made more sense.
Later another placed the bar across the O making it Theta. It was thus implied
to be a contraction for Theos (God)
and thus the word God was inserted to the text in the KJV. Trinitarians use it
as a proof text knowing it rests on a forgery in Codex A but relying on the
ignorance of others. However, no one seriously tries to assert that it does not
require a presumption of pre-existence.
Paul states quite
clearly that Christ was with Israel in the wilderness under Moses and all ate
of the food and all drank the water of the rock that was with them, and that
rock was Christ (1Cor. 10:4). Yet the Radical Unitarians try to ignore this
text also.
The OT texts
themselves state that no man can see God and live (Gen. 32:30). Yet this being
that was the subordinate God of Israel wrestled with Jacob and named him
Israel.
Radical Unitarians to
this day resort to silly arguments and misrepresent Scripture. One such
misrepresentation is from Hebrews 1:2. The text in Hebrews 1:1-2 says:
In many and various
ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets; but in these last days He
has spoken to us by a son, whom He appointed the heir of all things, through
whom he created the world.
Now Radical Unitarians
have actually quoted this text as evidence that Christ had no pre-existence by
stopping at the words the heir of all
things. They deliberately and dishonestly use this text and fail to
continue in the text to read to through
whom he made the aeonas, or ages
(and which is translated as the world). These ages are the three ages from the
restoration of the planet and the creation of Adam to the Flood, the age from
Noah to Christ and the third age from Christ to the Last Days and the Millennium
under the Messiah.
Believing the text is
one thing and a matter of faith, but to suggest that the text asserts that this
son of God was human with no pre-existence is intellectually absurd. We know from this text he is a son of God and we know from Scripture
that there were many sons of God (Job 1:6, 2:1; 38:4) and also that they were
called Yahovah or “He causes to be” and we know that there were four of them at
the one time dealing with Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis chapters 18 and 19) (see also
the paper The Angel of YHVH (No. 024)).
We know from the Dead
Sea Scrolls (DSS) and the Septuagint (LXX) that the text in Deuteronomy 32:8
was altered in the MT. The text originally read:
When the Most High gave
to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of men, he fixed
the bounds of the people according to the number of the sons of God (see
also RSV).
The Sopherim changed
this text to read according to the number
of the sons of Israel which is a fraud. It is done to hide the inheritance
of the Yahovah of Israel as verse 9 continues on directly to identify that
Yahovah’s portion is his people, Jacob the lot of his allotted inheritance (see
Green, The Interlinear Bible). This
text shows clearly that the Yahovah of Israel was one of the sons of God and Israel was allotted to him as his
inheritance. Through Him and his inheritance God was to take all mankind to
Himself as we see in Deuteronomy 32. This text was where Moses revealed the
name of the One True God Eloah for the first time (in the modern Bible
sequence) and listed it twice in verses 15 and 17. Moses had already identified
the name in Job on a number of occasions. This entity, Eloah, is the object of
worship and is singular admitting of no plurality whatsoever. Unlike the word elohim which is a plural word translated
as gods in the texts, Eloah is the
name of the One True God who is the creator and Father of all. Elohim is what
He is becoming through the creation, both heavenly and human.
Thus the Messiah is
appointed heir of all things so that God may become all in all. He must have
had pre-existence as a son of God in that inheritance and the text shows
clearly that he did indeed create the ages in which the inheritance would be
developed. Christ thus confounded the Pharisees to deal with the specific
heresy of Radical Unitarianism that denies his pre-existence.
In view of these
critical biblical texts it follows that a Radical Unitarian cannot be a
Christian as the doctrine is directly converse to the statements of the Bible
and to Christianity specifically. The pre-existence of Christ is fundamental to
the Christian faith.
It is perfectly
understandable that Jews would seek to lie and cheat to justify their failure
over the past two millennia. However, it is inexcusable for a professing
Christian to do so.
No sound thinker would
use the first half of Hebrews 1:2 to deny what the second half of it, with
verse 3, plainly asserts, as we see above.
We will now examine
the Origins of Binitarianism in order to tie the two doctrines together in
heresy.
Binitarianism is not a Christian doctrine. It arose in
Mesopotamia in the cult of the god Attis and the other deities of the mystery
cults. Those cults emerged in their specific Messianic doctrines after God had
revealed through the prophet Isaiah how the Messiah was to be introduced into
Israel.
The doctrine was in
fact a cleverly constructed demonic ruse to divert Israel from the faith. It is
an example of why the demons long to look into the prophecies of God that are
revealed through the church and the prophets.
Isaiah son of Amoz was
born before 760 BCE. He began his work in 742 BCE in the year that king Uzziah
died (Isa. 6:1). He came into prominence in the Syro-Ephraimitic invasion of
Judah in 734 BCE. From 734 he prophesied of the coming Immanuel and in 734 he
retired from public prominence owing to Ahaz’s conclusion of the Syrian
alliance. His seclusion lasted until 715 BCE when he began to speak more freely
under Hezekiah. In 705 the death of Sargon II saw a general revolt against
Assyria and the invasion of Sennacherib saw the rejection of the Assyrians and
their expulsion by God from Judah with the virtual end of his ministry from
701.
The cult of
Baal-Ashtoreth had been developing in Israel and was condemned. The other
similar cults under other names were occurring all over the Middle East and
into Europe. The Hittites or Celts however had gone into Europe earlier and
taken the ancient festivals with them. They had not developed the cult of the
“dying god” as precisely as had the Middle East people, as the ideas to defeat
the Messianic texts had not been issued until Isaiah ca. 734 BCE.
By the time of
Jeremiah, whose work spans the period from 626 to ca. 580 BCE, we have seen the
rise of the cult of Attis and the establishment of the Sun festival at 24/25
December after the solstice. The doctrines of the Mystery and Sun Cults were:
God was specific in
His condemnation of the sun cult in Jeremiah’s day. In Jeremiah 10:1-10 we see
God absolutely condemn the solstice festival that we now call Christmas.
Any person who keeps
or follows these festivals is a devotee of the god Baal and the sun cults. They
are not Christians.
Anyone who says that
when they die they go to heaven is not a Christian; they are Gnostic imposters
(see Justin Martyr, Dial. LXXX).
In just over 110 years
the counterfeit had been developed and was in full swing in the Middle East.
Judah was headed for captivity from which she would emerge for the Restoration
and the Messiah. Judah would then be placed under judgment. Her system would be
destroyed and she would be sent into exile for two thousand years.
The sun cults were to
extend from the cult of Osiris and Isis in Egypt which had developed much
earlier into the idea of the Mother Goddess Isis holding the invincible infant
sun god in the cave on the day after the Solstice, i.e. on the evening of 24
December which was the start of the day of the 25 December. This cult spread
into Syria and Mesopotamia as the cult of Attis from where it went into Rome
and became a major cult.
The sun festival did not enter Christianity until 375 CE in Syria and 386 in Jerusalem at the fall of the
Roman Empire and the commencement of the Dark Ice Age. Interestingly it was in
Syria that it penetrated Christianity and spread from there.
It had gone into
Greece and Thrace from the Middle East and into the Balkans as the cult of
Adonis, and also of the Mother goddess and the fertility cults as Demeter where
the sun cults entered Christianity also (hence the black Madonna and the cult
of the virgin).
The expansion of the
cults is dealt with in the paper The Origins of Christmas and
Easter (No. 235).
The greatest element
of fraud ever perpetrated on humanity was the Binitarian nature of the god
Attis.
People who do not
understand the doctrine try and misread it into Christianity. Let us be very
clear. Binitarianism is not a Christian doctrine. It is not scriptural and has
been used to destroy the early church and also the Churches of God at the end
of the twentieth century.
The doctrine of Attis
taught that he was a god who assumed physical form from himself. That is, the
physical Attis was a second divine aspect of the one god. It was a masterpiece
of satanic deception using the dual nature of God in counterfeit of the Bible
as the singular Eloah extending Himself to become Ha Elohim. In the biblical
doctrine Eloah extended Himself through His Spirit and all the sons of God
became elohim or gods on their creation through the extension of the Holy
Spirit as the enabling power of God so that He could be all in all as Ha Elohim
extending to all elohim. This was the most powerful message of the OT which was
to be explained by Christ in qualifying to extend the capacity to humans
through the Holy Spirit.
To muzzle the
understanding of the theology of the Bible, the extension of this capacity had
to be confined to one entity only and then split into two. This has the effect of allegedly overcoming
an objection of the Greeks which was levelled at Christianity by them precisely
to undermine the Bible and establish this two-headed god. They argued that only
like could atone for or reconcile humanity to God, and they thus argued that a
vicarious sacrifice could not reconcile man to God.
The obvious logical
absurdity of this proposition was ignored and the devotees of Attis entered
Christianity to overtake and destroy its theology.
The supposition is
absurd in that if God said that He would accept Christ’s sacrifice in payment
of sin, which He did through Isaiah, then it was accepted as a payment. In the
same way if anyone said that they would accept something as payment for a debt
under the law which is what sin is, then they were legally obliged to do so. To
suggest that the entity or payment had to be an element of the One True God to
do so, otherwise it is not an effective sacrifice, is an impious and heretic
accusation against the One True God. The only thing that the One True God
cannot do is die. One of the sons of God had to do that to reconcile all the
elohim and all of mankind to Eloah as Ha Elohim or The God. That is why he had
to be of the one origin, as was the entire Host. Thus he had to be both one of
the elohim and a man.
That doctrine has to
be overcome by the demons and so they invented the Binitarian doctrine and
established it in the mystery cults specifically to await the coming of the
Messiah.
Once the church had
been established and the apostles were all dead they began to insinuate the
doctrine into Rome solely for reason of power in control of the religions in
Rome. They had to transfer the doctrine of Attis from the cult of Attis to the
new and rising sect of Christianity.
In the middle of the second
century the man Anicetus, who had penetrated the Christian Church, was elected
bishop of Rome. Immediately he was powerful enough he introduced the Easter
system in the church in Rome. Easter is the English word for the goddess Ishtar
of the sun and mystery cults. The church outside of Rome objected and so
commenced the Quartodeciman disputes (see the paper The Quartodeciman
Disputes (No. 277)).
These heretics had
inserted the Sunday sequences into Christianity in Rome from 111 CE. As soon as
they were able they inserted the “Dying God” festival of Attis. The festival is
designed to move the Lord’s Supper away from the Passover to the Friday of the
cults and their “resurrection” on the day of the sun.
There is nothing
Christian about the festival of Easter whatsoever. It is a counterfeit system.
We did not split with the Roman Church in 154 but tried to peacefully exist
alongside them.
Once they had inserted
the festival ca. 154 CE, they began twisting the theology of Christianity and
in 170 the Alexandrian school began asserting the Binitarian doctrines into
Christianity and asserting the structure directly to Jesus Christ. They did
this by elevating Christ above the other elohim in the Host which was not done
until the second century.
By 192 they had taken
over the church in Rome completely and were in a position to expand the heresy
into Christianity generally. Victor, bishop of Rome and the greatest schismatic
the church had ever seen, after he became bishop, in 192 CE declared the Quartodeciman
Church of God anathema. He ruled that to be in communion with Rome the Easter
Festival had to be observed instead of the Passover. The result was that the Celtic Church in
Britain simply ignored the Roman Church and they went on as Quartodecimans
until they were forced at the point of the sword to adopt these false Roman
doctrines. That event occurred in 664 CE from the synod at Hilda’s Abbey in
Whitby. The Trinitarians subsequently effectively rewrote the history of the
church.
Binitarianism was used
to undermine the theology of the Church from 170 CE. In 325 at Nicaea
Binitarianism was declared doctrine of the Universal Church controlled from
Rome. The Unitarian bishops of the church were exiled with their logician Arius
by order of Constantine.
In 327, just two years
later Constantine had become aware that Binitarianism was a heresy and that the
churches outside of the influence of Rome did not accept it he recalled all the
exiled bishops and made Unitarianism the faith of the empire, which it
remained, with the exception of the reign of Julian the apostate, until 381 CE
when Gratian made the error of appointing the Spanish born Theodosius emperor
at Constantinople. He was an Athanasian. That sect, using the Cappadocians, had
developed the doctrine of the Triune God to superimpose on Binitarianism.
Thus the Trinity was born.
From the Canons of
Constantinople they rewrote the doctrines of Nicaea and the fraud of the Nicene
Creed was born in what had become pseudo-Christianity.
Binitarianism is the
means by which Christianity was undermined in the first place and then by force
of arms the original theology was suppressed.
The fraudsters of
Christian history and doctrine seek to assert that Binitarianism was the
original Christian doctrine. Some writers in the Trinitarian world at the end
of the twentieth century in the USA, in an effort to justify their adoption of
Trinitarianism, such as in the SDA groups, wrote works that misrepresented the
early theology of the church in an attempt to demonstrate that the church was Binitarian originally. Their arguments are based on a
profound ignorance of Scripture and the doctrine of the early Church and the
historical conflicts involved. Their false arguments are examined in the paper Binitarian
and Trinitarian Misrepresentation of the Early Theology of the Godhead (No.
127B).
One of these
pseudo-religious “scholars,” when it was pointed out that he had no theological
or religious qualifications, mysteriously turned up with a Doctorate in
Theology on his resume. However, when the hate sites got hold of it and
publicly ridiculed him, suggesting he had purchased it in India, it disappeared
again. His site is often used by the LCG
to promote fiction in support of them, over the objections of their more
scrupulous members.
The doctrine of
Binitarianism is being used by the plants and sycophants in the Churches of God
at the end of the twentieth century and now into the twenty-first century to
undermine the theology of the Churches of God.
It was started by the intrusion of Jesuits into the SDA church in the
USA. After the Biblical Unitarian theologian Uriah Smith died in 1931 (Wikipedia records it as 6 March
1903 (age 70 years), Battle Creek, Michigan, United States.) the plants simply asserted Binitarianism and
proceeded to develop an acceptance of Trinitarianism. By 1978 they declared
they were Trinitarian and now many do not even know that it is only a recent
development.
[1903 – Dr. John Harvey Kellogg promotes Trinitarian doctrines in Battle Creek after converting from Pantheism. Kellogg asks Jones to teach at Battle Creek College. Waggoner moves to Battle Creek, placing him in great peril. Ellen White writes to him: “Satan is working stealthily, untiringly, to affect your downfall through his specious temptations… He hopes to lead you into the mazes of spiritualism.” (Letter 231, 1903) Adventist Timeline of Change - As It Reads]
They penetrated the
Worldwide Church of God using two systems. They used the Trinitarian system to
assert Binitarianism to overcome the obvious stupidity of Herbert W.
Armstrong’s Ditheism (see the paper Ditheism (No. 076B)).
Some
pseudo-theologians as above state that Herbert Armstrong taught Binitarianism
which is a blatant lie. However the agenda was really to swing the Church of
God to Trinitarianism using Binitarianism as the vehicle. It worked in the second
and third century, and again in the Reformation, why not again now? After all
no one in the world thinks critically anymore, or do they?
The Church of God
(Seventh Day) was penetrated, and in 1995 declared that they had always been
Binitarian, which is another blatant lie. Some of their ministers were shocked.
Others outside of the US voted with their feet. Today there is not one branch of
the COG (SD) in Africa, of which we are aware, that is still with them
espousing this heresy. They are now almost all within CCG.
The next direction of
attack was by using Freemasons who entered the Churches of God but had not
properly renounced their sin. They used the approach of advocating Radical
Unitarianism that asserted that Christ had no pre-existence. These people
managed to congregate in the UCG and comprise more than 10% of the attendance
and ministry.
The combined attack
sees the Binitarian proponents misrepresent the Biblical Unitarian doctrines to
assert they are Radical Unitarians. It may be ignorance, as they demonstrate
that continually. Only time will tell.
There are a
significant group of Binitarian/Radical Unitarians left in WCG who think they
do God a favour holding on to the heresy. They argue that God and Christ was
the one person who was at Sinai. Then they argue that this God split into the
two beings at the Incarnation. They have no comprehension of what Christ and
the apostles were saying. It is effectively the Binitarian doctrine of Attis
all over again.
Thus the doctrines
slip into one another at will depending on how the dual nature of God is
explained at any one time.
What must be realised
is that many of these people do not know what they are saying and do not
comprehend the Scriptures and the heretical nature of their views. More
importantly they do not understand the damage they do to the newcomers to the
faith.
The doctrine of
Sabellianism also came into the church in China after the uprising of 1850 and
the sect of the True Jesus Church formed after that. They asserted and assert
to this day that Jesus Christ is the Father and there is only one God and
Christ is it. That is a form of Radical Unitarianism that even the Binitarians
see as complete nonsense. That has to be corrected before they can be of use to
the faith and in fact stop being of harm to the faith.
The theological
deterioration, aside from this major error in China, is in the USA and
commenced from Ellen G. White and extended into the WCG system through Herbert
Armstrong and Herman Hoeh and the Trinitarian quislings at Pasadena, who were
intended to have finished the job. It also penetrated the uninformed of the
Church of God (SD) and in the Seventh Day Baptists chiefly from the USA.
Radical Unitarianism
was also advanced into the General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh
Day) and its adherents ignore and misrepresent the Scriptures with the argument
we see above. It has far less adherents but their people too are joining us overseas
as they examine their doctrines more closely against Scripture.
UCG aia has at least
four doctrines on the Nature of God that emerge at any one time. LCG is not
much better.
There are
Trinitarians, Binitarians, Radical Unitarians, Ditheists and only rarely
Scriptural Unitarians. Usually the Scriptural Unitarians (sometimes termed
Sabbatarians and often and incorrectly termed Arians by the Trinitarians) are
not tolerated by the ministry, yet they tolerate all the other heretical forms.
That should tell us all we need to know about where they are headed.
This
Binitarian/Radical Unitarian heresy is not harmless and must be exposed for
what it is and stamped out of the Churches of God. It is a deliberate exercise
and has limited the ability of the Church of God to expand in these Last Days.
God will address it
and correct the errors. He can’t use them as they are in the Last Days.
Everyone everywhere
must be properly educated to deal with these issues.
We will consolidate
