Commentary on the Koran: Surah 110 “Succour”
Pickthall
Translation; Bible Quotes are from the English Standard Version unless
otherwise noted.
Introduction
An-Nasr is one of the very last Surahs revealed as it came to the Prophet only
two weeks before his death. It refers to the last days and the Triumph under
Messiah when all are converted.
******
110.1. When Allah's succour and the
triumph cometh
110.2. And thou seest mankind
entering the religion of Allah in troops,
110.3. Then hymn the praises of thy
Lord, and seek forgiveness of Him. Lo! He is ever ready to show mercy.
Our
help comes from the Almighty God. Victory belongs to him. This Surah looks forward
to the First and Second Resurrections. The Second being the period of training
and reeducation for the vast majority of humanity to lead them to repentance.
Once that process is completed mankind will be ready to enter the religion of
Allah. Mankind at last will be ready to seek forgiveness from God and live his
way of life. God is merciful and hopefully no one will perish.
