Commentary on the Koran: Surah 27 “The Ant”

Pickthall Translation with biblical quotes from the English Standard Version used unless otherwise noted.

Introduction

Surah 27 An-Naml The ant gets its name from the ant in verse 18 that gives the warning in the Valley of the Ants to the other ants regarding the impending approach of Solomon’s army.

It was Solomon that instructed the sluggard to go to the ants to consider their ways. Here the ant takes the place of the Prophet metaphorically as the warner or prophet to the idolatrous sluggards in Becca. The Surah comes from the Middle Group of the Beccan Surahs.

Some commentators sense that it was a warning to the Arabs and claimed that the ants was reference to an old Arab tribe perhaps at the time of Solomon, and the birds depict cavalry. They identify the Hudhud (the hoopoe) as a man’s name. Indeed it is the duplicate of the prophet Hud who was sent to warn the sequence of the tribes from the Aa’d (S11) to the Thamud and the Amalekites, Himyarites and the rest of the Arabs symbolised by the inhabitants of the area Al-Hijr (S15) symbolising Arab rulership under the control of the valley south of and adjacent to Becca. This does not seem to be understood; although the jinn are explained as the foreign troops. Certainly the demons undermined the Arabs and destroyed the meaning of the Qur’an with the Hadith and the traditions.

Solomon was symbolic of the church over the last 40 jubilees and to the coming of Messiah. The ant represents the last warning of the Church of God before the Witnesses.

Again we are directed to the Scripture being for the Believers as were the previous Surahs 24, 25 and 26.

*****

27.1. Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain;

Matthew 5:17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

27.3. Who establish worship and pay the poor-due and are sure of the Hereafter.

John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.

Proverbs 31:20 She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.

Proverbs 22:9 Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

2Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. 26And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God,

27.4. Lo! as for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their works fairseeming unto them so that they are all astray.

27.5. Those are they for whom is the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers.

Proverbs 14:12, 16:25: There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

Matthew 25:46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

27.6. Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware.

See Psalm 94:9 at ayat 27.2 above.

2Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

1Timothy 1:17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Job 9:4 He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered? (KJV)

Psalm 94:9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see?

Again we return to the story of Moses and the Burning Bush as we have seen previously.

27.7. (Remember) when Moses said unto his household: Lo! I spy afar off a fire; I will bring you tidings thence, or bring to you a borrowed flame that ye may warm yourselves.

27.8. But when he reached it, he was called, saying: Blessed is Whosoever is in the fire and Whosoever is round about it! And Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!

27.9. O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.

Exodus 3:2-6 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. 3And Moses said, "I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned." 4When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." 5Then he said, "Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground." And he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

Psalm 95:3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Romans 16:27
to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.

27.10. And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence,

27.11. Save him who hath done wrong and afterward hath changed evil for good. And lo! I am Forgiving, Merciful.

Exodus 4:3 And he said, "Throw it on the ground." So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it.

1John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Daniel 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him

Again we see the Miracles of Moses from the serpent to the leprous hand. These are to be the Nine tokens mentioned previously and explained in the texts previously and in Moses and the Gods of Egypt (No. 105) and The Passover (No. 098). There were eleven miracles but they were reduced to nine tokens.

27.12. And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk.

Exodus 4:6-7 Again, the LORD said to him, "Put your hand inside your cloak." And he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous like snow. 7Then God said, "Put your hand back inside your cloak." So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, it was restored like the rest of his flesh.

Exodus 4:21 And the LORD said to Moses, "When you go back to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the miracles that I have put in your power. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.

Exodus 3:9 And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

27.13. But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic,

27.14. And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers!

Some of Pharaoh’s people believed but Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and the end result of his attitude was that his entire army was drowned in the sea.

Exodus 14:5-8 When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, the mind of Pharaoh and his servants was changed toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” 6So he made ready his chariot and took his army with him, 7and took six hundred chosen chariots and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them. 8And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the people of Israel while the people of Israel were going out defiantly.

Exodus 14:28 The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, not one of them remained.

Exodus 15:4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host he cast into the sea, and his chosen officers were sunk in the Red Sea.

Then we proceed to David and Solomon.

27.15. And We verily gave knowledge unto David and Solomon, and they said: Praise be to Allah, Who hath preferred us above many of His believing slaves!

27.16. And Solomon was David's heir. And he said: O mankind! Lo! we have been taught the language of birds, and have been given (abundance) of all things. This surely is evident favour.

1Kings 3:6 And Solomon said, "You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and have given him a son to sit on his throne this day.

1Kings 4:29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the seashore,

2Chronicles 1:12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you. I will also give you riches, possessions, and honor, such as none of the kings had who were before you, and none after you shall have the like."

So here we see the armies of Solomon grouped as the spiritual forces and mankind. The birds are depicted by the Arab commentators as cavalry, as reconnaissance troops.  The ants are the people of the faith that are warned to conceal themselves from the armies of the world. These sequences are covered in the papers Rule of the Kings Parts I, II and III and especially Part III.

27.17. And there were gathered together unto Solomon his armies of the jinn and humankind, and of the birds, and they were set in battle order;

27.18. Till, when they reached the Valley of the Ants, an ant exclaimed: O ants! Enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his armies crush you, unperceiving.

27.19. And (Solomon) smiled, laughing at her speech, and said: My Lord, arouse me to be thankful for Thy favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and to do good that shall be pleasing unto Thee, and include me in (the number of) Thy righteous slaves.

The story refers to inclusion in the elect of God as righteous slaves, as Solomon observed them; then as the Churches of God.

See 1Kings 3:6 at ayat 27.16 above.

1Kings 3:12 behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.

Solomon was the symbol of the Key of David and the beginning of the construction of the Temple of God which Temple we are. He was given the angelic Host together with his human armies and animals to fight his battles. He was a symbol of Messiah. These conflicts are the Wars of the Last Days and the Vials of the Wrath of God (No. 141B).

2Chronicles 20:15 And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s.

27.20. And he sought among the birds and said: How is it that I see not the hoopoe, or is he among the absent?

27.21. I verily will punish him with hard punishment or I verily will slay him, or he verily shall bring me a plain excuse.

27.22. But he was not long in coming, and he said: I have found out (a thing) that thou apprehendest not, and I come unto thee from Sheba with sure tidings.

27.23. Lo! I found a woman ruling over them, and she hath been given (abundance) of all things, and hers is a mighty throne.

27.24. I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah; and Satan maketh their works fairseeming unto them, and debarreth them from the way (of Truth), so that they go not aright;

27.25. So that they worship not Allah, Who bringeth forth the hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knoweth what ye hide and what ye proclaim,

27.26. Allah; there is no God save Him, the Lord of the Tremendous Throne.

27.27. (Solomon) said: We shall see whether thou speakest truth or whether thou art of the liars.

27.28. Go with this my letter and throw it down unto them; then turn away and see what (answer) they return,

27.29. (The Queen of Sheba) said (when she received the letter): O chieftains! Lo! there hath been thrown unto me a noble letter.

27.30. Lo! it is from Solomon, and lo! it is: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful;

27.31. Exalt not yourselves against me, but come unto me as those who surrender.

27.32. She said: O chieftains! Pronounce for me in my case. I decide no case till ye are present with me.

27.33. They said: We are lords of might and lords of great prowess, but it is for thee to command; so consider what thou wilt command.

27.34. She said: Lo! kings, when they enter a township, ruin it and make the honour of its people shame. Thus will they do.

27.35. But lo! I am going to send a present unto them, and to see with what (answer) the messengers return.

27.36. So when (the envoy) came unto Solomon, (the King) said: What! Would ye help me with wealth? But that which Allah hath given me is better than that which He hath given you. Nay it is ye (and not I) who exult in your gift.

27.37. Return unto them. We verily shall come unto them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from thence with shame, and they will be abased.

27.38. He said: O chiefs! Which of you will bring me her throne before they come unto me, surrendering?

27.39. A stalwart of the jinn said: I will bring it thee before thou canst rise from thy place. Lo! I verily am strong and trusty for such work.

27.40. One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze returneth unto thee. And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul; and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul's hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful.

27.41. He said: Disguise her throne for her that we may see whether she will go aright or be of those not rightly guided.

27.42. So, when she came, it was said (unto her): Is thy throne like this? She said: (It is) as though it were the very one. And (Solomon said): We were given the knowledge before her and we had surrendered (to Allah).

27.43. And (all) that she was wont to worship instead of Allah hindered her, for she came of disbelieving folk.

27.44. It was said unto her: Enter the hall. And when she saw it she deemed it a pool and bared her legs. (Solomon) said: Lo! it is a hall, made smooth, of glass. She said: My Lord! Lo! I have wronged myself, and I surrender with Solomon unto Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

The Biblical account of the Queen of Sheba visiting Solomon is detailed in 1Kings chapter 10 verses 1 to 13 and 2Chronicles chapter 9 verses 1 to 12.

So here Hudhud (the name of the hoophoe) brings news to Solomon of the power of Sheba and its idolatrous sun worship.

The story of the Sabaeans was explained in Surah 20 Ta Ha in the Introduction because the term Sabaean is applied there in the description of the Prophet by Omar. David and Solomon are also mentioned in Surah 21 The “Prophets.” It is important to understand the fact of the conversion of the Queen of Sheba by Solomon and the relevance of that story to this Surah and the use of the term to the Faith and the Prophet.  However, it was the circumambulations of the Sun worshippers around the Axis Mundi, which the Ka’aba had become at Mecca, seemingly from Sabaean influence that was being inferred and which became the ritual of worship at Mecca under pseudo-Islam.

See Proverbs 16:25 at ayat 27.5 above.

See Psalm 147:5 at ayat 27.2 above.

27.45. And We verily sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, saying: Worship Allah. And lo! they (then became two parties quarrelling.

27.46. He said: O my people! Why will ye hasten on the evil rather than the good? Why will ye not ask pardon of Allah, that ye may receive mercy.

27.47. They said: We augur evil of thee and those with thee. He said: Your evil augury is with Allah. Nay, but ye are folk that are being tested.

27.48. And there were in the city nine persons who made mischief in the land and reformed not.

27.49. They said: Swear one to another by Allah that we verily will attack him and his household by night, and afterward we will surely say unto his friend: We witnessed not the destruction of his household. And lo! we are truthtellers.

27.50. So they plotted a plot: and We plotted a plot, while they perceived not.

27.51. Then see the nature of the consequence of their plotting, for lo! We destroyed them and their people, every one.

27.52. See, yonder are their dwellings empty and in ruins because they did wrong. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for a people who have knowledge.

27.53. And we saved those who believed and used to ward off (evil).

Verses 45 to 53 above relate the story of the community of Thamud. The messenger Salih was sent to them to warn them about the impending destruction coming their way if they did not turn from their wickedness. Those who heeded the warning and repented were saved while the unrepentant paid with their lives. He is mentioned above at Surahs 7:73-79; 11:61-66; 26:142-158; and here at 27:45-53; and below at Surahs 54:27; 91:13. He and Hud feature prominently as prophets to the early sons of Shem and form part of the train of prophets to the Arabs warning them of their idolatry. So it is here mentioned also as a warning to the Beccan Qureysh and the Arabs generally. Despite these warnings the Arabs failed and specifically at Becca.

Pseudo Islam split into two faiths: Hadithic and Shia Islam and sub groups. To this day they war and slaughter each other.

Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, "'You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.'"

Isaiah 5:19 who say: “Let him be quick, let him speed his work that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near, and let it come, that we may know it!”

Psalm 33:10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.

Job 5:12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.

Again we continue on to Lot and the warnings for Sodom and Gomorrah.

27.54. And Lot! when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination knowingly?

27.55. Must ye needs lust after men instead of women? Nay, but ye are folk who act senselessly. 27.56. But the answer of his folk was naught save that they said: Expel the household of Lot from your township, for they (forsooth) are folk who would keep clean!

27.57. Then We saved him and his household save his wife; We destined her to be of those who stayed behind.

27.58. And We rained a rain upon them. Dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.

Genesis chapter 19 details the biblical account of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Jude 7 states that Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. These stories are important to the message of the Qur’an as we see Lot or Lut mentioned in the texts at Surahs 6:86; 7:80-83; 11:77-81; 15:61-72; 21:71, 74-75; 26:161-174; 27:54-58 above; 29:6, 28-30, 32-35; 37:133-134; 54:36; and his people mentioned in Surahs 11, 15, 22, 26, 27, 37, 38, 50, 51 and 54. These abominations and sexual immorality are found all over pseudo Islam both at 613 at the First Hijrah as Ja’far witnessed to the Negus in Abyssinia (see above) and to this very day. Also now it is so in Israel for which they will be punished.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Romans 1:24-25 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

Romans 1:27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Here again we are reminded of the oneness and supremacy of the One True God. All these offences will be punished.

27.59. Say (O Muhammad): Praise be to Allah, and peace be on His slaves whom He hath chosen! Is Allah best, or (all) that ye ascribe as partners (unto Him)?

See Psalm 97:9 at ayat 27.44 above.

Psalm 89:5-8 Let the heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! 6For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD, 7a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him? 8O LORD God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O LORD, with your faithfulness all around you?

Psalm 119:165 Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.

Isaiah 37:19 and have cast their gods into the fire. For they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed.

27.60. Is not He (best) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sendeth down for you water from the sky wherewith We cause to spring forth joyous orchards, whose trees it never hath been yours to cause to grow. Is there any God beside Allah? Nay, but they are folk who ascribe equals (unto Him)!

Nehemiah 9:6 You are the LORD, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you.

Psalm 65:9-13 You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. 10You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. 11You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. 12The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, 13the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.

Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me,

27.61. Is not He (best) Who made the earth a fixed abode, and placed rivers in the folds thereof, and placed firm hills therein, and hath set a barrier between the two seas? Is there any God beside Allah,  Nay, but most of them know not!

The Trinitarians tried hard to add to the texts to make Christ as Creator of the Heavens and Earth. These texts are directed at that heresy. So also Binitarians and Ditheists persist with that heresy.

Acts 17:26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,

Psalm 65:9 You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it.

Psalm 104:10 You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills;

Isaiah 59:2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.

Acts 26:18 to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

27.62. Is not He (best) Who answereth the wronged one when he crieth unto Him and removeth the evil, and hath made you viceroys of the earth? Is there any God beside Allah? Little do they reflect!

Psalm 107:6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

Psalm 8:5-6 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. 6You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet,

Psalm 138:2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.

See Isaiah 45:5 at ayat 27.60 above.

27.63. Is not He (best) Who guideth you in the darkness of the land and the sea, He Who sendeth the winds as heralds of His mercy? Is there any God beside Allah? High Exalted be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!

27.64. Is not He (best) Who produceth creation, then reproduceth it, and Who provideth for you from the heaven and the earth? Is there any God beside Allah? Say: Bring your proof, if ye are truthful!

The text again refers to the two creations: from Job 38:4-7 as the primary creation, and from Genesis 1:1ff as the re-creation, refurbishment of the earth of the elohim at the direction of the One True God.

See John 16:13 at ayat 27.2 above.

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way;

See Psalm 97:9 at ayat 27.44 and Psalm 89:6 at ayat 27.59 above.

Here we are again reminded of the Resurrection to Judgment of the disbelievers.

27.65. Say (O Muhammad): None in the heavens and the earth knoweth the Unseen save Allah; and they know not when they will be raised (again).

27.66. Nay, but doth their knowledge reach to the Hereafter? Nay, for they are in doubt concerning it. Nay, for they cannot see it.

27.67. Yet those who disbelieve say: When we have become dust like our fathers, shall we verily be brought forth (again)?

27.68. We were promised this, forsooth, we and our fathers. (All) this is naught but fables of the men of old.

See Jeremiah 23:24 at ayat 27.44 above.

Daniel 2:22 he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

John 5:25 "Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

1Timothy 5:24-25 The sins of some people are conspicuous, going before them to judgment, but the sins of others appear later. 25So also good works are conspicuous, and even those that are not cannot remain hidden.

2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

27.69. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see the nature of the sequel for the guilty!

27.70. And grieve thou not for them, nor be in distress because of what they plot (against thee).

See Psalm 33:10 and Job 5:12 at ayat 27.53 above.

Lamentations 3:64 You will repay them, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

27.71. And they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful?

See 2Peter 3:9 at ayat 27.68 above.

Habakkuk 2:3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

Matthew 24:36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

27.72. Say: It may be that a part of that which ye would hasten on is close behind you.

1Thessalonians 5:2-3 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

27.73. Lo! thy Lord is full of bounty for mankind, but most of them do not give thanks.

See Psalm 145:16 at ayat 27.64 above.

Matthew 5:45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Romans 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

27.74. Lo! thy Lord knoweth surely all that their bosoms hide, and all that they proclaim.

27.75. And there is nothing hidden in the heaven or the earth but it is in a clear Record.

See Isaiah 29:15 at ayat 27.44 above.

Luke 12:2-3 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.

27.76. Lo! this Qur'an narrateth unto the Children of Israel most of that concerning which they differ.

27.77. And lo! it is a guidance and a mercy for believers.

See 2Timothy 3:16 at ayat 27.6 and Lamentations 3:22 at ayat 27.64 above.

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Psalm 119:98-100 Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. 99I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. 100I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts.

27.78. Lo! thy Lord will judge between them of His wisdom, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

See 1Timothy 1:17 at ayat 27.6 above and Ecclesiastes 12:14 at ayat 27.93 below.

1Corinthians 4:5 Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.

Nehemiah 9:32 Now, therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love, let not all the hardship seem little to you that has come upon us, upon our kings, our princes, our priests, our prophets, our fathers, and all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria until this day.

27.79. Therefore (O Muhammad) put thy trust in Allah, for thou (standest) on the plain Truth.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

27.80. Lo! thou canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call when they have turned to flee;

27.81. Nor canst thou lead the blind out of their error. Thou canst make none to hear, save those who believe Our revelations and who have surrendered.

Thus in 65-81 above we are told that the disbelievers will die in their error and cannot be made to understand and will have to be re-educated in the Second Resurrection.

Luke 8:10 he said, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that 'seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.'

John 12:40 "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them."

27.82. And when the word is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth to speak unto them because mankind had not faith in Our revelations.

27.83. And (remind them of) the Day when We shall gather out of every nation a host of those who denied Our revelations, and they will be set in array;

27.84. Till, when they come (before their Lord), He will say: Did ye deny My revelations when ye could not compass them in knowledge, or what was it that ye did?

27.85. And the Word will be fulfilled concerning them because they have done wrong, and they will not speak.

Thus they stand condemned and then to be re-educated.

Job 12:7-9 “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; 8or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. 9Who among all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?

Isaiah 1:3-4 The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.” 4Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the LORD, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged.

Read also Revelation 20:11-15 as quoted at ayat 17.15 in Commentary on the Koran: Surah 17 (No. Q017).

Refer also to the parable of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25.

27.86. Have they not seen how We have appointed the night that they may rest therein, and the day sight-giving? Lo! therein verily are portents for a people who believe.

Proverbs 3:24 If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Psalm 104:23  Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening.

1Thessalonians 5:7-8  For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. 8But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.

Then the Day of Trumpets of the New Moon of Tishri signals the Return of the Messiah and the subjugation of the planet after the First Resurrection of the Dead as the elect of God.

27.87. And (remind them of) the Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and the earth will start in fear, save him whom Allah willeth. And all come unto Him, humbled.

1Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Matthew 24:31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Isaiah 2:19 And people shall enter the caves of the rocks and the holes of the ground, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth.

27.88. And thou seest the hills thou deemest solid flying with the flight of clouds: the doing of Allah Who perfecteth all things. Lo! He is Informed of what ye do.

Revelation 16:17-20 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" 18And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. 19The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found.

1John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

Deuteronomy 32:4 The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.

Job 34:21-22 “For his eyes are on the ways of a man, and he sees all his steps. 22 There is no gloom or deep darkness where evildoers may hide themselves.

27.89. Whoso bringeth a good deed will have better than its worth; and such are safe from fear that Day.

27.90. And whoso bringeth an ill-deed, such will be flung down on their faces in the Fire. Are ye rewarded aught save what ye did?

Job 34:11 For according to the work of a man he will repay him, and according to his ways he will make it befall him.

Galatians 6:8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

See John 5:28-29 at ayat 27.5 above.

27.91. (Say): I (Muhammad) am commanded only to serve the Lord of this land which He hath hallowed, and unto Whom all things belong. And I am commanded to be of those who surrender (unto Him),

27.92. And to recite the Qur'an. And whoso goeth right, goeth right only for (the good of) his own soul; and as for him who goeth astray - (Unto him) say: Lo! I am only a warner.

27.93. And say: Praise be to Allah Who will show you His portents so that ye shall know them. And thy Lord is not unaware of what ye (mortals) do.

See Daniel 2:22 at ayat 27.68 and Luke 4:8 at ayat 27.53 above.

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

Hebrews 2:3-4 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, 4while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

Acts 5:32 And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.

Revelation 4:11“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

And so all men are judged by what they have done and will be re-educated in the Judgment so that they are brought to repentance and given the opportunity of survival as sons of God as Elohim.

All men are warned and the One True God Eloah does nothing save He warns them through His servants the prophets. This warning will be followed by those of Enoch and Elijah from Jerusalem and then the Messiah will come and all false religion will be destroyed.
